· Bat is the only mammal who can fly.

· The biggest animal in the world is Blue Whale.( 30meters long )

· The Biggest animal who lives in land is elephant and the biggest animal in aquatic environment is blue whale. Both are herbivores.

· In the oceans , the food for the large forms of organisms is supplied by tiny microscopic plant planktons.

· Most committed parent should go to the male penguin. As the eggs laid by the female penguin is kept on the feet of the male, covered over by it’s feathers and protected without moving, at temperatures of around 40 C even as long as one month, till the she bird come back.

· 81 species of inland fish have been recorded in Sri Lanka of which 27 are endemic.

· At Tsunami disaster only two buffaloes died at Yala Sanctuary. But many tourists died there. It seems that animals have the senses of natural disasters, like Tsunami. · Life originated in water. The first living forms were microscopic, single celled organisms. · Some frogs have sucker pads on their toes which help them to be very good climbers. · The bodies of living things contain lots of water.
